Has Meccano gone too far with there latest relese
Its called "Meccano Spyke Spy Robot"
It costs around £180, and doesnt look like any Meccano I would ever buy
But apparently all Meccano sets can be built on to this
I dont like it  Evil or Very Mad

It all depends....
I know that sounds like a vague get out but;
Is it motorised?
Is it controlled, via radio or infra red?
Can it's parts be incorporated into traditional Meccano?
If I can use the parts then I'd buy it.  At the moment I'm sketching out a steam driven Meccano robot and methinks this may have possibilities.
No doubt Meccano call it progress, like the steam driven loom.

Just looked up the features on this thing:

Quote:
Main Features
Meccano Spyke Spy Robot

   * Spy robot - Spykee moves, watches, speaks and listens
   * VOIP phone - Use your Spykee as a wireless VOIP phone     (compatible with Skype 3.0 PC technology)
   * Digital Music Player - listen to your own music over Wi-Fi with Spyke
   * Video Surveillance - When a movement is detected, Spykee activates an alarm on your computer or sends you a picture by email
   * Other play functions include snapshot, sound and video recording, light, voice and sound effects and video filters
   * Wi-Fi card included
   * Motion sensors activate automatically when something happens
   * Returns to recharging station automatically when battery is low
   * Control on local Wi-Fi connection or remotely on internet

So basically it's one of those "executive gadgets" - not my bag, but I can see an appeal. What I cannot see is what it has to do with Meccano.
