I made these animations a couple of years ago
They show the workings of the engines in a slower motion than a video can

Ive done a few and must get round to making the animated gifs. A tripod is essential as Mike says!

A good tip for this type of photography is to set your camera to aperture priority.
Even most point & shoot cameras have this facility & it keeps the depth of field constant in all the pictures.
This in turn  means nice smooth, crisp animations, like Mike has just posted

I use a remote IR controller on mine so I dont have to touch the camera . . .
